Yowsa! Family Matters Celebrates 200 Episodes
Warner Bros. Online, 09/17/1997

Cast of Warner Bros. Television Hit Comedy Series Commemorates Milestone With Two Presidents

(August 26, 1997 - Burbank, CA)

Warner Bros. Television's Family Matters, the popular comedy series, which recently moved from a stellar eight year run on ABC to its new address as the anchor of the Friday night block party lineup on the CBS Television Network, will film its milestone 200th episode titled "Stevil II: He's Not Alone" on Wednesday, September 17. Currently in its ninth season, the show will be honored with a celebration on Stage 10 at Warner Bros. Studios in Burbank. Participating in the festivities will be Tony Jonas, President Warner Bros. Television and Leslie Moonves, President CBS Television. Both high ranking executives will make a congratulatory toast to the producers, writers, crew and cast, which includes series regulars Reginald VelJohnson, JoMarie Payton-Noble, Jaleel White, Kellie Williams, Darius McCrary, Michelle Thomas and Orlando Brown.

In the history of television, only 20 comedy series have achieved their landmark 200th episode. "Stevil II: He's Not Alone" is scheduled for broadcast on CBS on Halloween--Friday, October 31 at 8:00pm.

Stevil II: This Time He's Not Alone

For its Halloween episode last season, the show featured Stevil, an evil ventriloquist dummy come-to-life created by and looking exactly like Steve Urkel (series star Jaleel White). In "Stevil II: He's Not Alone," the mischievous live ventriloquist dummy has a nightmarish sidekick named Carlsbad, who looks precisely like Carl Winslow (series star Reginald VelJohnson). Together these two attempt to take over the good natured souls of Urkel and Carl, trying to become an entertaining act headed for Las Vegas, all while continuing to wreak havoc throughout the Winslow household.

Family Matters is produced by Bickley/Warren, Miller*Boyett Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
