#8: Waldon't Day 64 The remaining Stevivors have been quite antsy ever since the merging of the tribes. It was especially difficult for Carl and Waldo, whose original tribe, the Murtagh tribe, was outnumbered the remaining members of the original Shimata tribe. Luckily, Carl had Waldo to keep him safe, that is until Maxine came into the picture. "Waldo was Carl's second-in-command for the entire run," says Rachel, "but ever since the tribes merged, he had been following Maxine. They have a romantic past and that's hard to break, even if it means trying to Stevive." Waldo, who had before followed every order imaginable by Carl, was now following Maxine and the rest of the Shimata tribe. "I was not very pleased at all," says Carl. "It was because of me that Waldo made it this far, and he forgets all of that. I don't know why." And it wouldn't be another episode of Stevivor without lies and deception. When Carl confronted Rachel about why Waldo was not following him anymore, she lied and said that Waldo was trying to defeat Carl by forming an alliance with the Shimata tribe. "I felt a little bad about making such a lie," says Rachel, "but with us all together as one tribe, it really stars to become every person for themselves, and competing in a you scratch my back, I scratch yours kind of thing. Waldo could easily prove to be a threat due to his strong alliance to Carl, which if he was smart enough, he could get Maxine to do, too. I couldn't allow that to happen." Carl formed his own alliance with Rachel, Laura, and Maxine, and when it came time to vote, an unaminous vote was made against Waldo. The tribe had spoken. Waldo had to leave the island. Carl then realized the mistake he just made. "He followed what I wanted him to according to plan," says Rachel. "It's three against one. Unless for some reason, we girls stop sticking together, I wouldn't expect to see Carl here for much longer."
