#5: Eddecision Has Been Made

Day 32

Tensions mounted high for Eddie Winslow and Maxine Johnson. A few days ago, they tied for being chosen to leave the island and return to Steve. As the time approached for the final vote, both members made sure to conform to both tribes.

"We had decided that all of the other members would make an unanimous decision of whether to vote off Eddie or Maxine to make it fair," says Laura. "When the tribes get smaller, there is the possibility that they will merge."

And that possibility was used to their advantage, as both members promised members of their opposite tribes that they would follow voting procedure according to their rules if allowed to stay in this tie-breaker vote-off.

"It was very hard to make a decision," says Waldo. "They both were trying so hard. Eddie was getting all the food for us, and Maxine gives the best back rubs you've ever had."

But Stefan was still stuck on getting rid of Eddie. Ever since they had an early confrontation on the voting off of Richie after the first few days, their stay together have been anything but pleasant. Things got worse for Eddie when Stefan became suspicious of all the food Eddie was getting for both tribes.

"It would sometime take hours to get a scrap of food off of this island," says Stefan. "Now we were eating full meals every night. Something didn't seem right about that."

Laura also became suspicious. The two followed Eddie a couple of nights ago to see what was going on... and for other things. "Not many people know this," says Laura, "but Stefan and I have been sneaking off a lot on this island to make out. I can't help it! I mean, we're in different tribes and all, but I can't resist him."

Back to the tale, what the two found out was quite astonishing. Eddie, with help of his girlfriend Greta who was not participating in this Stevivor competition, had been smuggling food onto the island. He ate most of it and the rest of it he gave to the tribes.

"It was so sneaky," says Stefan. "Not to mention totally against the rules." Stefan and Laura confronted Greta, who didn't help Eddie either by confessing.

"It was either confess or there would be a new version of Stevivor using Myrtle and I would be involved. I had to talk," says Greta in an exclusive interview. "Honestly, I had been smuggling food for Eddie ever since they got on the island. Lately, I just had been bringing in more since he told me about the tie-breaker situation."

Eddie was shocked and dismayed when, during his and Maxine's final speech before the voting, his own tribe member Stefan stood up and spoke the truth about Eddie's food smuggling.

"It really made sense after Stefan mentioned that," says Waldo. "All this time I was wondering how do you grow a corn dog on an island?"

The food smuggling and dirty pool played by Eddie made him an easy target for both tribes. And even though they enjoyed the pleasure of eating Eddie's food, they stood by the principles of the rules of the game, which was enough to convince everyone to vote Eddie off of the island. The tribe had spoken.

Maxine, who is now allowed to stay, has become happy and nervous. "It's a weird situation for me right now," she says. "I'm happy to stay on the island, anything to keep away from Steve, but it's hard to be close to my tribe again knowing they all had the intention of voting me off. I'm staying on a technicality, which is great, but makes me afraid of what might happen if my tribe has to vote again." Maxine's strategy, she states, is to be the best in making sure the Shimata tribe wins every immunity challenge.

Eddie Eddie's Final Comments
"What can I say? I provide food for the entire tribe, and they eat it, and then question the way I bring it in. That disgusted me. I can't believe how backstabbing people can be just to get away from Steve. And I can't believe Stefan ratted me out. And my best friend, Waldo, voted against me for his girlfriend. It's crazy and I'd rather be with Steve than with the Winslow family of backstabbers and friends."
