#2: Poor Little Richie Boy

Day 3

It was a major day for the Stevivors as they would participate in their first immunity challenge. Their challenge was that they had to say the worst things about Steve as they possibly could. This was easy for several contestants... except for Richie.

"I'm just a kid, and Uncle Steve is not all bad. I like some of the things he does," says Richie. "I just came to spend time with my mom, but that's been very hard since we're on different tribes."

"So we're naming things we don't like about Steve, and the others had some really good stuff," says Carl, the unofficial leader of the Murtagh Tribe. "But when it came to Richie's turn, he turned all soft on us and said all these nice things about the geek. It really hurt our teamwork."

Hurt so much that the Shimata Tribe won the immunity challenge. As a result, the Murtagh Tribe would have to vote one member back to Chicago to live with Steve.

Richie, fearing that he would definitely be the one voted off, tried his best to make alliances, saying he really wanted to stay and be with Rachel. But it was too little, too late.

"If he really wanted to stay, he would have picked on Steve like everyone else," says Eddie. "And it's not the only problem we have had with Richie. Richie is cool and all, but he slows our tribe down a lot. What it boils down to is that he's the youngest, and the young can't stevive. He hates hiking, he hates hunting and gathering, he hates all the hard work. He misses civilization... his television, his video games, and he just warming up to this girl, Gwendolyn, right before we left."

It also doesn't help that Rachel is not all that concerned about Richie. "I love my son very much, but I have to be careful," she says. "If I show any remorse towards Richie, then the rest of my tribe will notice and that could be used against me when it comes time for us to vote a member off."

That night, at the Tribal Council meeting, Richie voted to kick Eddie off, since he was the one who gave him the most slack about the contest. Stefan did the same. "Eddie was a little hard on Richie, and I didn't like that," says Stefan. "He's just a kid. You have to give him a chance."

But Carl, Eddie, and Waldo disagreed, as they all voted for Richie. The tribe had spoken. Richie was voted off the island.

Eddie is now gained new suspicion. "There were two votes for me, and I'm pretty sure Richie was one of them," he says. "Now I wonder who else voted for me. I hope, for their sake, I don't find out."

Richie

Richie's Final Comments:
"I wasn't at all surprised that I got voted off. I saw this coming. I'm just a kid, maybe I shouldn't have been out here. But now I get to be home alone, like Macauley Culkin, and do anything I want. So who is the true winner here? That's all I'm saying."
