Season 4 Highlights
- Michelle Thomas has a recurring role as Myra Monkhouse.
- Darius McCrary shows off his singing skills singing a duet with Tracy Spencer.
- Urkel's trademark car, the BMW Isetta, makes its first appearance.
- Telma Hopkins leaves Family Matters for the short-lived series, Getting By.
Season 4 Episodes
- "Surely You Joust"
Carl and Steve are at each others throats once again, but this time, they do
it literally when they go on American Gladiators to duke it out.
- "Dance To The Music"
Carl gets jealous of Harriette's new piano instructor, who is smooth and
sauve. Meanwhile, Steve gets a guy Laura likes to ask her out for homecoming,
and she loved the gesture so much that she danced with Steve after being crowned
homecoming queen.
- "Driving Carl Crazy"
Urkel gets a new car, that's right the Isetta, but needs Carl's help in
learning how to drive it.
- "Rumor Has It"
Larua's boyfriend, Ted, mistakingly makes his friends believed he scored
with her and the rumors spread. Steve tries to tell her but she doesn't believe
him. But then Max tells her, then Eddie, then so on. This episode introduced a
new bad guy soon to become friend of Eddie, Weasel.
- "Number One With A Bullet"
Steve is in the hospital and Carl joins him when he gets shot by a robber,
but Carl is in trouble when the robber comes to finish the job.
- "Whose Kid Is It Anyway?"
Richie is sad because Eddie promised to take him trick-or-treating, but gave
it up for a hot date in another Family Matters Halloween episode.
- "An Officer And A Waldo"
Eddie insults Waldo's intelligence one time too many and he runs off to join
the army. Eddie and Steve go undercover as new recruits to try and save him.
Look for Tackleberry of Police Academy fame in this episode.
- "Just One Date"
Steve plants himself on the roof in the dead of winter until Laura goes out
with him. Meanwhile, Richie meets the new girl next door, Gwendolyn, and this
little cutie's got the hots for little Richie.
- "The Oddest Couple"
Eddie tries getting his own place which doesn't work out well for him when
his roomate is Steve Urkel.
- "It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Urkel"
It's a wonderful and very comedic life for Laura when her gaurdian angel
comes down after she has yelled at Steve. He shows her what its like to be
Steve by switching the two around. A very wonderful episode featuring Steve
Winslow (Imagine Stefan with glasses and as a member of the Winslows) and Laura
Urkel (Trust me, you don't want to imagine that, you have to see to believe).
- "Muskrat Love"
Ted tries to prove he has changed and Laura doesn't grab him, so Maxine does
and Laura's upset. Meanwhile, Eddie dumps his date because his friends think
she is not pretty but Laura helps him make the right decision. She then makes
the right decision about giving Ted a second chance, leaving Steve and Maxine
alone to dance the night away.
- "Hot Wheels"
Carl gets a very old cop car at an aunction and he wants Eddie to have it.
After repairing it, it's all Eddie's, but Eddie doesn't seem to have the time
for it. Meanwhile, Urkel's glue invention causes problems when he accidentally
glues himself to Laura right before her big date.
- "The Way The Ball Bounces"
Laura studies herself crazy for the SATs so she can get into Haravrd and a
college wants to recruit Eddie for his athletic skills, but fails to mention its
academic program.
- "A Thought In The Dark"
Laura and Ted are sick and tired of Steve getting in the way, so Ted hooks
Steve up with his brainy cousin, Myra. But Myra turns out to be a brain and a
beauty and Steve feels he has cheated on Laura when they go out on a double
date. Look for an appearance by Dave Koz. This is Michelle Thomas's first time
on the series.
- "Tender Kisses"
Eddie dresses himself up as a bellboy at a hotel to get a glimpse of
songstress Tracy Spencer and try to get some tickets from her. He ends up
singing a duet with Tracy and for once becomes the center of attention in an
episode. Of course, Tracy Spencer guest stars, plus we get to see Weasel in
drag.
- "Heart Strings"
After constantly begging, pleading, and even wrapping himself up like a box
of chocolates, Steve gets the esteemed pleasure of being Laura's valentine.
- "It's A Mad, Mad, Madhouse"
When Eddie is about to get in trouble in school, he lies and says he has
home problems and problems do begin for Eddie when the teacher makes a surprise
visit to his house and sees the wacky family known as the Winslows.
- "Higher Anxiety"
Eddie is depressed about losing his girlfriend to another guy and Waldo and
Steve try to cheer him up by taking him to a party. It doesn't work, he's still
depressed, but now all three of them are about to be dead when the balcony they
stand on gives way.
- "Mama's Wedding"
Mother Winslow is getting married to her new beau, Fletcher Thomas. Eddie
plans a party a day after the wedding when everyone plans to leave, but a
misprint of the date on the flyers cause the two events to collide. Carl is
also not too thrilled about his mom getting married again.
- "Pulling Teeth"
Waldo and Maxine actually go out on a date, and they have a good time, too,
thus starting the relationship. Meanwhile, Carl tries to help Richie get rid of
a loose tooth.
- "Walk On The Wild Side"
Laura is tired of being known as Miss Goody Two-Shoes, so she, Maxine, and
new friend K.C. get fake IDs to go to Club Buff, a strip club, only to find
Mother Winslow, Rachel, and Harriette there. And Urkel ends up performing!
- "Hot Stuff"
Myra gets Laura's advice in trying to win Steve's heart, and finds all she
needs is an accordian and some polka music to do so. And Eddie's new car has a
booming new system. Unfortunately, it's hot merchandise.
- "Stormy Weather"
Steve is afraid to take his new steady, Myra, to the junior prom. He is
afraid she'll find out he's a, gasp, nerd!
- "Buds 'n Buns"
Carl has to take a second job, working under Eddie, the new manager at
Mighty Weenie. Meanwhile, Laura tells Steve he misses him around since he's
been with Myra, and Myra thinks Laura "the hussy" is trying to take Urkel from
her.
